Dr. Benedikt Köhler attended the LMU Munich and studied sociology, ethnology and psychology. Alongside his doctorate with Ulrich Beck he worked as independent consultant for social media strategies. Moreover, the sociologist is particularly committed to calculate key figures in the field of social media and is a designated specialist for market research within the user-generated media. In 2008 he co-founded the Team Social Media e.V. and is currently their vice-chairman. Benedikt Köhler blogs articles concerning media sociology topics in his weblog blog.metaroll.de at regular intervals. Since January 2009 he works as Director of Digital Strategy and Research at ethority GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg and is in charge of the new branch office in Munich.
